The Solveig Sales Memorial Library is a great resource for students, historians, authors, and curious residents. It is open to the public, and contains vertical files, books, periodicals, pamphlets, maps, military records, oral histories, family histories, and county records. The photo collection includes more than 18,000 historic images. Reproductions of these photos are available for purchase.
Many people use the library resources to research buildings or family homes in Gallatin County. Architectural projects done by Montana State College students, as well as a collection of property abstracts prove useful in delving into the history of local structures.
