The Ophir school/ Big Sky Community Library opened its doors to the community in October 2000, and has seen steady growth and popularity ever since. Assisted by Resort Tax monies and the volunteer efforts of Friends of the Big Sky Community Library (FOL), a new addition opened in November 2007. This space with its books, programs and computers has significantly enhanced the quality of the library.

Books and libraries go together. For a book like Big Sky Names that looks at the meaning of the various named locations in Big Sky, it seems only appropriate that it go with our community library. This book was brought together by help from many members of our community to help preserve the meanings behind the names of the places we love in BIg Sky.
