Proud to announce…

The Gallatin History Museum has entered the book publishing business. The first publication of the new Gallatin History Press is “Bozeman’s Backyard: Names in the Madison, Gallatin and Bridger Ranges,” by Dr. Jeff Strickler, a retired pediatrician living in Big Sky.

“We’re delighted that Dr. Strickler has donated the royalties from his marvelous history of area place names to the Gallatin History Museum, Cindy Shearer, the organization’s former Executive Director, said. “It fits in perfectly with our mission of promoting and preserving Gallatin County History.”

“We plan to use our new press,” Shearer said, “to publish new books that deal with the colorful and important history of our area. We’re ready to consider manuscripts ranging from serious scholarship to memoir.”

Plans also call for publishing out-of-print titles where the Museum has copyright and anthologies of items from its periodicals including “In Celebration of Our Past,” “The Pioneer Museum Quarterly,” and “The Gallatin History Quarterly.
